Awards

Im lucky enough to have been presented with a number of photographic awards and letters of commendation from my peers.

As you know I've been a stills guy since a kid, and as a video-and-stills guy since 2003.

My newspaper career has seen numerous invites from the International Olympic Committee to enter their invitational sport exhibition and contest.

I have also been nominated in ten Walkley awards for my Daily Telegraph, Sydney Morning Herald and Parkes Champion Post photos, and have won several major Victorian Country Press awards for my news work with Echuca's Riverine Herald.

In addition, the letters of commendation have come from the Chief of Staff at GTV Melbourne's Nine News for the coverage on various disasters.

With the photo awards, I won 17 in house awards for the Echuca Riverine Herald from 1994 to 2002 for news, sport, features and advertising photos.

I also won a couple of major Victorian Country press awards for my advertising and news photos.
Before I arrived, the Riverine Herald had not won a photographic award - in house or VCPA - for seven years.

  1. Its great to be publicly acknowledged for my work. Its astounding to be acknowledged by my peers.

In the newspaper industry I have won a few.
These are the ones I can think off the top of my head.

Two awards for best news story of the year.
One shared award for story of the year (I did the photo)
One photo for advertisment of the year.

These were for images shot from 1994 to 2002.
Before I arrived at The Riv, they had not won a photographic award for seven years.

    One International Olympic Committee invitation.
Two Victorian Country Press Awards for best news photo.

On top of that, I have also done two Royal Tours, and received a "thanks" from the ladies of the local CWA for a donated portrait I shot of The Queen.
